For the second time in 2026, BRIM played a significant role in helping prevent a potential school shooting. On September 27, 2026, a report submitted through BRIM alerted school officials to a serious threat involving a student.
The reported plans included threats against several students by name. The threat also described plans to shoot other students and teachers inside the school.
An Anonymous Report Led to Quick Action
School officials and law enforcement acted quickly after receiving the information. Police took the student into custody before the reported plan could be carried out.
